Release the Child in You

My friend and I drove to the mall and we played like children before we shopped. We played with the fallen fall leaves and we climbed a tree. As a child growing up in the countryside in Jamaica (my friend grew up in Brazil), I learned to climb tall trees for fun and for food. Here are pictures of the child in me/us again, this time in Pennsylvania. The security guard asked my friend not to climb on a stand, and I wondered what she would have said if she saw us climbing the tree.

Your soul feels free when you release the carefree child in you, so take the risk. But... be cautious.

Seriously, I always thought you were very serious. Tree climbing is an excellent idea.

  10. Yay! You have to let go every so often and just BE A KID, right? (Unless you like insanity.)

  11. What fun the two of you had! Good for you. I surprised my son a couple of days ago climbing one of our trees in the yard--it's easy to climb. He about had a heart attack when he saw me up there.
    What are you doing Mom!
Having fun. Gotta problem with that?
    You could fall.
Kid of mine, I didn't freak out when you climbed trees as a wee lad! (Well, I did inside) I'm not gonna fall. Breathe son.

Love the pictures of all your fun.

  15. Hi Peaches.
It looks like you had lots of fun.
I believe that, from time to time, adults need to tap into that inner child that is in all of us, just let go... it does wonders for the soul!
    Nice to meet you! *waving*

  16. I love it. You both are adorable. At 49, one of my favorite things is still to shuffle through a pile of leaves. The poor hapless person who worked hard to rake their pile of leaves will find their neat gathering scattered if I see it unattended!
