Aspects of My Life - Like "Art" on Canvass

So the book is published—aspects of my life—flung out there like art on canvass for everyone to scrutinize, to question, to doubt, to praise. Why did I share so much of myself?  Well, I did not plan to write about my life as some authors plan. The stories morphed together when I took a writing course and things that were shameful and painful gradually became my strength. I slowly healed myself through my writing, which strengthened me to brave the world.
Yesterday, Linda Jackson featured the book, Day Laughs, Night Cries: Fifteen. I am thankful, Linda. Click on her name to read the post.
Today, however, I am sending a big thank you to everyone who has helped me to complete my book, to launch it, to promote it, and to cheer me on. I also want to thank the new friends I have made throughout this process. I also appreciate the letters that readers mail to me, and the notes they post on my Facebook page. I know this process is all about taking “baby steps,” and that is what I am doing.
I am currently working on my next book – Day Laughs, Night Cries: Steel Dreams. Here is a working draft, part of the back cover blurb.
Consumed with pain and malice after a devastating phone call, Peaches spends her days plotting to destroy the man she once valued, until a visit to the local library melts her malice and redirects her thoughts.
My aim is to complete the final draft by April and publish it early summer. I'm also branding Day Laughs, Night Cries. But I must mention that I am consumed by a burning desire that will not leave me (it's not related to writing). I am trying to sort it out and hope that I will write about it in my next post. And this is my new Website. It's still a work in progress.
For now, here are pictures from the book launch.

  2. Ironically, Peaches, yesterday I was thinking of how brave you are to tell your story, especially when there is so much pain. However, I know your story will bring healing. And anyone who is brave enough to share his/her life on paper is not doing it for him/herself but for the good of others. May your story reach the masses. *hugs*

    1. Joy, remember that you also agreed in your book to not "get mad, get even." "Even" means many things. That's what I did.

  18. Peaches: You are so right, good writing is like art; it is our art that we share with the world. Because of that we sometimes feel protective, but mostly it is about our unique vision and the way it speaks to readers. I can tell you have a very special talent. A way of capturing what it means to be human, authentic, and to overcome. It is the way of life too, and in your case, life is definitely very pretty and beautiful art. Keep up the great work!
